Cataract Surgery After Glaucoma Surgery: Issues and Recommendations

Nowadays, different techniques are implemented in the name of the glaucoma surgery, trabeculectomy is still the most commonly performed surgical procedures. Although it has complications, its long-term efficacy and safety at intraocular pressure (IOP) control shown by many studies. Of course, new methods and approaches in surgical applications continues. Cataract development or progression is another frequent problem in patients underwent glaucoma surgery. This situation makes the opthalmologists worry about how the cataract surgery will affect the control of IOP and glaucoma. The main goal of these patients to provide both visual rehabilitation, and prevent progression of preserving stabilization. In reaching this goal, the problems and solutions will be analyzed thoroughly in the article.
