Ganglion Cell Complex in Glaucoma
Oya TEKELİ
M.D. Professor, Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology, Ankara/TURKEY Glaucoma is characterized by a degenerative optic neuropathy and preferentially affects retinal ganglion cells (RGCs). The significant portion of RGCs reside in the macula and early glaucomatous damage can affect the macula. The spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SDOCT) scans provide the assessment of the macular ganglion cell complex (GCC). In this review, macular imaging with SD-OCT technology is evaluated. Keywords : Glaucoma, spectral domain optical coherence tomography, ganglion cell complex
