3Asist. Dr., FSM Hospital, Göz Hastanesi, İstanbul, Türkiye In this case report, we aimed to present a case of transient corneal edema limited to lasik fl ap, which occurs after phacoemulsifi cation surgery without any complication. A 57-year-old man was admitted to our clinic with a complaint of low vision in the left eye. We learned that, he underwent lasik surgery six years ago with femtosecond from both eyes for +2,25 diopter hypermetropia. At the biomicroscopic examination of the patient, grade 3 nuclear cataract was present in the left eye and visual acuity was 0,3 with the snellen chart. Phacoemulsifi cation surgery and intraocular lens implantation were applied to the left eye of the patient. There were no complications during surgery. On the 1st day postoperatively, the patient\'s visual acuity was found 0.3 with snellen chart because of limited edema of lasik fl ap. The anterior segment optical coherence tomography (OCT) we performed had fl ap-limited edema but no fl uid was present at the interface. In the second week of follow-up of the patient, corneal edema disappeared completely, and the patient\'s vision reached 1,0 with snellen chart. The fl ap created in lasik has biomechanically different properties from the normal cornea. This is a case report showing that the lasik fl ap has different hydraulic behaviors compared to the stromal bed and the remaining corneal tissue.
