Diagnosing glaucoma accurately in patients with high myopia is difficult because of the clinical features that resemble glaucomatous optic
neuropathy. Patients may establish visual field defects that imitate glaucoma, and conventional imaging technology is less informative in
disease identification and monitoring due to the absence of myopic normative data. These facts highlight the critical importance of determining
the underlying pathology associated with myopia and primary open-angle glaucoma in future studies. This review discusses the intricate
relationship between myopia and glaucoma and the challenges of current testing protocols and treatment strategies.
